What does an Xpedition free account get me?

The free version of Xpedition is heavily stripped down; however the free version does still have a wide range of features, which you can view below:

  • Automatic Map Selection:
    • Xpedition will select the map that best matches your current zoom level. Different zoom levels show different maps. This can be changed in the drop down list.
  • Snap to Road:
    • Waypoints are moved to follow road networks.
  • Mobile Toolbars:
    • 4 toolbars that can be moved around the screen.
  • Create POIs:
    • POIs can be marked anywhere on a route or map.
  • Elevation Profile:
    • This shows a detailed elevation profile, which includes relevant route planning stats. This can be set to show automatically in the settings.
  • Route Card:
    • The route card shows relevant data for each waypoint
  • Location Search:
    • Search for almost anything by name, you can also set a POI to that place.
  • Share Routes:
    • Show the rest of the world your routes, and discover what other people have shared.
  • Private Routes:
    • If you don’t want to share your routes, then keep all or some of them private.
  • Import Files:
    • Import other route files, any GPX format files can be uploaded.
  • Waypoint show/hide:
    • Choose to show or hide waypoints.
  • International Mapping:
    • We have maps covering the entire world, so you can plan any adventure here – and Xpedition is even currently available in 2 languages (English and German).

A comparison chart is available on the Xpedition website, and the premium-only features are also viewable on our knowledge base article "What does an Xpedition premium account get me?"
