I know Garmin had some issues with this problem and the updated Garmin BaseCamp late last week with a fix. The version with the fix is - 4.8.3, if you open up Garmin BaseCamp then on the top menu bar go to - BaseCamp > About BaseCamp.
Currently, for whatever reason, it is not automatically updating to this version so you could uninstall it reinstall the new version.
I don't know how much 'work' you have within Garmin BaseCamp, if not a lot I would just uninstall it and then install it again.
If you have a lot of work you want to keep I would back it up first before uninstalling it.
