Sending a check-in message is a quick way to let your contacts know you’re ok and optionally include your location coordinates (latitude and longitude). ZOLEO can send a check-in message to up to 5 check-in contacts and can be sent to your recipients using SMS, Email, SMS & Email, or directly to their ZOLEO App (if they have the app installed). Recipients of the check-in messages are set through your online account on https://www.zoleo.com/. Instructions for configuring your check-in contacts can be found here: Adding Check-In and SOS Contacts.
Note: Check-in messages can be initiated from your ZOLEO App or ZOLEO device at any time and will be sent using the least cost network (Wi-Fi or cellular data if available with failover to satellite), like regular text messages.
This article includes revised instructions on how to perform a Check-In. It is possible that you may have received a printed version of the Quick Start Guide in the box which contains a typo. To download the latest version of the ZOLEO Quick Start Guide, click here.
1. Send a check-in message from the ZOLEO device by momentarily pressing the check-in button or by selecting the check-in icon from the Chats tab using your connected ZOLEO App.
2. The LEDs on the ZOLEO device flash green in turn indicating that the message is sending. The ZOLEO device will stop the LEDs and emit an ascending tone when the message is sent. If the Check-in LED is lit amber, ensure the ZOLEO device has an unobstructed view of the sky and try again.
3. Ensure your ZOLEO has a clear view of the sky and allow a few minutes for the message to transmit.
